In a landmark move to enhance the pilgrimage experience, Saudi Arabia has introduced a one-year multiple-entry Umrah visa, allowing pilgrims to enter the Kingdom multiple times within a year while staying for a combined total of up to 90 days.
The initiative, announced by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, is part of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Pilgrim Experience Program, aimed at making Umrah more accessible, flexible, and convenient for millions of Muslims worldwide.
Key Highlights
Validity: Valid for one year from the date of issue.
Entries: Multiple entries permitted throughout the visa's validity.
Maximum cumulative stay: Up to 90 days across all visits.
Nusuk requirements: Pilgrims must purchase an approved service package and obtain an Umrah permit through the Nusuk app before each visit.
Automatic reactivation: The visa becomes active again for subsequent visits after departure, provided all regulations are met.
Not valid during Hajj: The visa cannot be used during the Hajj season (1 Dhu al-Qi'dah to 13 Dhu al-Hijjah) and is not a substitute for a Hajj visa.
The starting price for a visa is approximately Dh600 (15700 Rupees).
Previously, Indian pilgrims generally had to apply for a new Umrah visa each time they wished to perform Umrah, requiring fresh documentation, processing, and approval for every trip.
Under the new system, one multiple-entry visa remains valid for one year, allowing multiple Umrah visits without reapplying for a new visa each time. Entry requirements still apply for each visit
وَأَتِمُّوا الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ لِلَّهِ
And complete the Hajj and Umrah for Allah." (Qur'an 2:196)
