From the Amity Archives
Between 2016 and 2020, Amity Forum regularly brought people together through learning sessions, mentorship initiatives, entrepreneur meets, and conversations around faith, personal growth, and community responsibility.
What connected these gatherings was simple. They created space for people to learn together, reflect honestly, ask questions freely, and support one another through different stages of life.
Creating Spaces to Learn Together
From the beginning, Amity Forum believed learning should feel open, thoughtful, and connected to everyday life.
Some sessions focused on faith and spirituality. Others explored leadership, business, social issues, science, charity, and personal growth. But no matter the topic, the goal remained the same — creating spaces where people could grow together through conversation and shared experiences.
Many gatherings felt less like formal lectures and more like community discussions. People stayed back after sessions, continued conversations outside the hall, exchanged ideas, and built friendships along the way.
That sense of togetherness became an important part of the learning culture within the community.
Self-Development and Islamic Learning Sessions
Over the years, Amity hosted a wide range of learning sessions across Kochi focused on faith, character, community responsibility, and everyday life.
Some conversations encouraged reflection on patience, sincerity, spirituality, and personal growth. Others explored topics connected to ethics, society, science, charity, and professional life.
Rather than formal lectures, many gatherings felt open and conversational. People stayed back after sessions to continue discussions, exchange perspectives, and learn from one another.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Some of the most memorable sessions focused on practical issues affecting everyday life and society.
One such session, The Water We Drink: Pure or Poisoned?, explored pollution in the Periyar river, harmful chemicals in water sources, and the impact of environmental damage on public health.
Another important gathering focused on Zakat rulings and practical guidance, helping participants better understand both the spiritual and practical importance of Zakat in everyday life.
Weekly Arabic learning sessions also created a consistent space for people interested in understanding the language more deeply and strengthening their connection with faith and learning.
These gatherings reflected Amity’s belief that learning should not feel distant or disconnected from real life. It should help people think more deeply, live more consciously, and contribute more responsibly.

Entrepreneur Meets and Career Conversations
In 2019, Amity organised Meet the Entrepreneurs 2019, a workshop that brought together entrepreneurs, professionals, and community members for conversations around business, ethics, growth, and responsibility.
Eight speakers shared their experiences, challenges, and lessons from building businesses and navigating professional life. The event also included a session on Islamic perspectives related to business and ethical practices.
A panel discussion gave participants the opportunity to ask questions directly and engage in honest conversation with the speakers.
The gathering reflected something Amity has always believed — professional growth and strong values do not have to exist separately.
Growing Through Mentorship and Community
Beyond organised sessions, mentorship and peer support naturally became part of the Amity community over the years.
Students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and younger members regularly shared opportunities, offered guidance, discussed challenges, and supported one another through different phases of work and life.
Often, growth happened in small conversations after events, over shared meals, or through simple acts of encouragement and advice.
That spirit of learning from one another helped create relationships that extended far beyond events themselves.
A Community That Continues to Grow
Every session, discussion, and mentorship effort reflected a shared belief that growth becomes more meaningful when people grow together.
For Amity Forum, learning has never only been about information. It has always been about building character, strengthening faith, supporting one another sincerely, and creating spaces where people feel encouraged to move forward with purpose.
That same spirit continues to guide the community today.
